Here are some of the amazing things to see and do…

Take a drive to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and enjoy Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! This is one of the Midwest’s best kept secrets. There is plenty of hiking, kayaking, site-seeing, rock collecting, camping, fishing, amazing sand dunes and plenty of wildlife.

There is an abundance of wildlife in Northern Michigan! You may see fox, coyote, bear, porcupine, dear, elk, and if you are really lucky – perhaps a moose or a wolf in the Upper Peninsula!

If you enjoy bird-watching, this is one of the premier spots to do that. Enjoy the annual raptor migration right here in Mackinaw City! The birds gather in kettles in the Spring and Fall to cross the Straits of Mackinac. This is a site you won’t want to miss. https://www.michiganradio.org/post/straits-mackinac-are-bird-prey-superhighway

Petoskey and Harbor Springs are a short drive and feature beaches, shopping, and very quaint downtown areas that you can enjoy. Plenty of restaurants, breweries, wineries, ice cream & fudge shops. Browse the art galleries and charming gift and garden shops. http://www.sturgeonriver.com/

Don’t miss the unique opportunity to visit Mackinac Island! There are ferry services from both Mackinaw City and St. Ignace that will get you there in 20 minutes or less. Boats run all day and into the evening to take you there and back. The Island is an adventure back in time. There are no motorized vehicles allowed on the Island so travel is by foot or bike. You can rent a horse-drawn carriage or taxi to see the Island but the main shopping and restaurant area is very walk-able. You can bring your own bike or rent one from the many vendors on the Island. There are also horseback trips for the more adventurous.
